Condition for Moksha or Liberation
Lets first understand when do we qualify for freedom from birth and death.
The concept of achieving freedom from the cycle of birth and death, often referred to as “moksha” or “liberation,” varies across different spiritual traditions.
But the common criterias to attain freedom are
- You have exhausted all your karma and
- You are not creating any new karma while doing day-to-day activities and
- You have detached from all your material possessions, relationships, and desires.
How does Moksha or Liberation work in twin flame journey?
Twin flames are said to be one soul in two bodies.
So if you are in twin flame journey, then it means both you and your twin flame should meet the criteria to attain freedom i.e.
- Both of You have exhausted all your karma and
- Both of You are not creating any new karma while doing day-to-day activities and
- Both of You have detached from all your material possessions, relationships, and desires.
Usually this is not the case as one twin is more spiritual evolved than the other.
If this is the case with you then with the help of inner work, you can even help your counter part to awaken and help them moving forward to meet the criteria for freedom.
When both the twin flames attain freedom while present on this earth plane, their souls gets merged.
If any of the soul from twin flame pair has not attained freedom, its counterpart has to wait for it to reach the state of freedom.
Multiple Twin flames
And now if you have multiple twin flames, then the same criteria of freedom applies to all the parts of your soul i.e. they all have to attain freedom and then all your soul parts can get merged.

Lets understand the Liberation process with the help of The story of a Purāna pandit which can be found in holy book Sripada Srivallabha Charitamrutam at page 466.
The Purāna pandit was a wise yogi who discovered profound truths through his yogic powers. He realized that his soul, fragmented into many lives, was now merged within him, except for two forms — a four-month-old male infant in a Brahmin household and a lady named Lakshmi.
He wanted to merge both these soul fragments into him, but this would be not as per the divine’s plan.
So Srīpāda Srīvallabha, a divine being, intervened, who knew of these complex connections.
He revealed that Lakshmi was going to die in a few years and would take next birth due to her intense desire to have a married life.
This yogi is also going to die naturally after some years and his soul will merge with the male infant child.
In the next birth Lakshmi will get married to this infant boy when they both reach marriageable age.
If this Yogi uses his yogic power to merge the soul of the infant or soul of lakshmi into his soul, then it will cause these major issues.
- If only the soul of the infant child is withdrawn by this yogi, then any demon can take possession of the infant child’s body and do bad deeds.
As Lakshmi has a major desire to live a married life, so she will take her next birth. In her next birth, she would have to live and die as a virgin since that infant boy who would have been her husband in that birth would have already died before her preceding birth. - If the soul of both the infant and Lakshmi are withdrawn by this yogi then there will be no next birth for Lakshmi or this infant.
In the next birth, Lakshmi would have got married to this infant child, and then both of them would have inspired others on the path of Divinity. But as both Lakshmi and the infant souls do not exist in the next birth, the task of inspiring others will not be fulfilled.
So Srīpāda Srīvallabha instructed this yogi not to merge the infant’s soul into himself, as this would disrupt the divine plan.
